Between the Covers
Ever wonder what magic turns an old, forgotten book into a one-of-a-kind art journal? Hereβs a peek behind the curtain β or rather, between the covers.
It Begins with a Book π
Each journal starts with an antique book, handpicked for it's character and charm. Every cover has a story β and yours might just be it's plot twist.
A Gentle Restoration π·π»ββοΈ
Each book is carefully inspected and lovingly restored if needed, ensuring itβs sturdy enough for the creative journey ahead.
Paper with Purpose π
Inside your watercolor journal, youβll find 100% cotton, 300 GSM (140 lb), cold-pressed watercolor paper, and inside your sketchbook journal, you'll find 100% wood pulp, 160 GSM (108 lb), hot-pressed sketching paper. Each page is hand-torn to create beautiful deckled edges that echo the vintage charm of it's cover.
Bound by Hand π§΅
Pages are hand-sewn with waxed 100% linen thread, stitch by stitch, binding your journal together with durability and heart.
Built to Last πͺπΌ
A layer of mull is added to the spine with flexible, acid-free glue, giving your journal that lay-flat ease every artist dreams of. After that, itβs dressed up with a coordinating ribbon bookmark, and topped off with head and end bands to match.
A Thoughtful Closure π
An elastic band is attached to the back cover to keep your journal securely closed β because even stories need boundaries.
The Finishing Touch π
The book stack is joined to it's cover using heavy-weight patterned cardstock, chosen to complement the bookβs design.
A Place for Your Name βπΌ
A custom label on the front page gives you a place to write your name and the dates you begin and complete your journal.
A Nod to the Past π
As a final tribute, a page from the original book is featured on the inside of the back cover β honoring the tale that once lived within.
